New plugin added in order to encourage comments being made on posts, also gives a link back to those that choose to comment, blogging etiquette at its finest :o)
CommentLuv enables you to reward your blog readers by leaving a titled link to their last post automatically whenever they comment thus encouraging more comments by more people on more posts!
So I am learning as I go here and putting it all down into this “Blog Development” category so the next stage of this blogs development is to ensure that it is always running the most up to date version of the wordpress software. This is pretty much a given in ANY blog so as to ensure optimum running, it can be done manually but it really is a pain. The last thing I want to be doing is jogging back and forth uploading files and, as is my way, managing to inadvertently put something ion the wrong place and killing the whole blog!!
So a quick search on Google gave me the following Auto Update Wordpress Plugin :

It really is simple, you download the plugin as per any other, unzip it and then upload it to your domain. Then go to your dashboard and activate the plugin, at the top of your dashboard you will see a link that says “Auto Update” and you simply click on this.
One thing that may get thrown up, as happened with me, is that the plugin will be unable to write to your database which it needs to to action the update. If this is the case you simply have to input your FTP Username, FTP Password, Root Directory and your FTP host (usually in the format of ftp.yourdomain) and it will then allow the plugin to work. All passwords etc are safe btw.
The plugin then performs a few simple steps that you agree to step by step and your version of wordpress is up to date :o) Plus it also auto backups your database for if there is any conflict and reinstalls all your plugins..
All in all a great, must have, Wordpress Plugin.

It amazes me how many people simply seem to live to put people down and to try and drag them back into the “humdrum”, I was chatting to a friend that I havn’t seen for a while (in the pub!!). This friend used to own his own business and fell on hard times and now is back working for someone else and as such sees that everyone else should not look to follow their own dreams as they will ultimately lead to failure. So as you can imagine when I told him of my plans he wasn’t, shall we say, supportive….
Now I can see where he is coming from and can fully understand but to apply his experiences to form a generalisation that everyone will follow the same path is quite simply wrong, don’t worry I told him this to. So when I got home I thought I would make a post to highlight three of the motivational phrases and sayings that I find sum up my approach to this Scrap Metal Venture, not 100% scrap metal related of course but as much part of my journey as stripping the wire is…
So here goes:
It’s a dream until you write it down, and then its a goal.
When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you will find a way to get it.
Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.
